Spring is here!

Or at least that’s what it says on the calendar…

While it may not be feeling like spring outside in my neck of the woods, I’ve definitely been connecting with the energy of the season – of growth, of renewal and change.

Over the past few months, there’s been a lot going on at Five Winds – Performance & Wellness Coaching.

New projects have come my way and I’ve also been buckling down, working hard on finishing some current projects to get them out to you soon. All this activity is also bringing about a few changes to this blog space and how I communicate with you.

Biggest News!

The biggest project I’ve been working on is finishing my Post-Performance Recovery E-book, which will be available in Fall 2018!

Yay! I’m so excited that the book will be out there soon!

I started this project almost 2 years ago and it has been quite a journey to get here.

When I first started writing the book, I imagined it as a short PDF document to collect a bunch exercises I had taught in recent workshops. I thought I would finish it in a few months and simply send out to the people that had taken my workshops.

Shortly after starting, however, it became obvious to me that this project was becoming much bigger than I first intended.

I brought on an editor, began interviewing performers about their personal struggles with performing and began developing audio recordings to pair with written exercises described in the book.

After two years of work, what’s emerged is comprehensive, easy to read, and (dare I say) fun guide on how you can practically manage the stress and intensity of performing through creating a personalized post-performance recovery practice.

I walk you through the theory behind how our energy is transformed and changed when we perform and how that can affect us in our daily lives.

I tell you about my own struggles with the intensity of performing and share stories of how other performers have navigated the challenges of their work.

It also includes practical exercises you can use to help you cool down from performing and how to link those exercises together to create a post-performance recovery practice of your own. The exercises are broken down into easy to follow, step-by-step instructions and, as promised, are paired with guided audio recordings that you will be able to download with the e-book.

Currently, I am in the final stages of editing the copy, and I’m currently working with a designer on the layout and visual feel of the book.

So crazy that this actually happening!

Biggest Change!

As I dive deep into finishing the e-book, you’ll notice some changes coming to this space, the Five Winds Blog.

For the past year, this has been an evolving space where I share exercises, theories I’m working on, and profiles of performers who have developed awesome strategies on how to perform at their best.

It’s also been a space where I provide the best resources I’ve come across from colleagues and other corners of the internet on how to live your best, most productive and most balanced life as a performer.

As I focus in on the book, however, it’s become important for me to streamline some of my communication and spend my writing time focused on producing the best content possible for the book.

So instead of sticking to regular, twice monthly blog posts, I have started a newsletter!

Each month, you’ll receive an email featuring all the updates and news on Five Winds, the e-book and my work that you need, and it links to the best resources and exercises I’ve come across that month to support you in your life as a performer.

I’m bringing a bunch of stuff together in one fun, info-packed resource for you!
