Well, it’s true! Summer is finally upon us. Yay!

The sun (and even the rain), the long days and all the plants in bloom having been calling me outdoors every chance I get. Weekend hiking and road trips have been refreshing, and the chance to work on my back patio has helped me stay focused during the week, even though all I really want to do is run off to the beach (can you relate?). 😉

In the midst of all this wanderlust, there’s been a lot of activity at Five Winds!

Recently, an article of mine, Leaving Troubling Characters on the Stage, was published in Intermission Magazine. This article has been several months in the making and features interviews with a psychotherapist and professor on the psychology of performing and post-performance recovery. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, click here.

I’m also excited to be taking my Five Winds work out on the road! I’ll be presenting and teaching in a variety of different venues this summer. I’d love to connect with you at them!

So have a read below to see where I’m headed and leave me a comment if you’d like more info on any of the events. ????

  1. Hillside Festival – On Stage Zen: Meditation Workshop

I am so excited to be part of the Hillside Festival this year! I grew up going to this festival and still attend every year. This will also my first time teaching a workshop in my hometown. Whoohooo! 🙂

This workshop will focus on 3 meditation practices I have developed to help performers prepare for and release their performance experiences. The workshop is for anyone who performs or presents publicly: actors, dancers, musicians, teachers, speakers, athletes etc. It’s also totally accessible, even if you’ve never meditated before.

Hillside is an amazing festival and experience. Tickets are still available! 🙂

Where: Guelph Lake Conservation Area, Guelph ON
Mind Body Tent
Time: 50 minutes, check the festival program for specific workshop times
Cost: FREE, with your festival ticket

Along with all this, I am also going through the process of refining my offerings through Five Winds. I have been working for the past while on honing what types of support I offer performers, expanding the definition of “performer” and making booking sessions with me easier.

I have some new coaching offerings, writing ideas and online tweaks in the works, so keep your eye on the website to see it all roll out!

I will also be taking some time off over the summer (yes, answering the call of the beach!), but I still have some space for coaching and other projects. If you’re interested or want to chat about your needs or ideas, send me a message through the website contact page.

I hope the warm(ish) weather is treating you well so far! Thanks for your support of Five Winds. Excited to see you on the road sometime this summer. 🙂

Much love,

-Mairin

Act(ing) Mindfully is a part of my work with Five Winds. It’s a space where I explore the connection between performance and energy, and offer tips and ideas on how to stay balanced and healthy (body, mind, emotions and spirit) while living the life of a performer.
